Linda Dawn Muirhead
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda on January 14, 2023. Linda passed away peacefully in her sleep after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was predeceased by her infant daughter Kelly, parents Don and Ruth Muirhead, brother Bill, and Step-Mother Shirley McMillan. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sally Gerelus (Corey) of Florida, son Kevin Gerelus and grandsons Tyson and Tyler of Grande Prairie Alberta, sister Lori (Chris) Wren and their children Christopher (Cailee), Lisa, and Michelle (Paul), and great niece and nephew Kolby and Brody, as well as Bill’s family in Alberta. Linda was born on April 16, 1955 in Saskatoon. In 1962 the family returned to Winnipeg. Linda grew up in St. James and attended Silver Heights Collegiate. Linda lived in a handful of cities before moving to Grande Prairie Alberta in 2006 to be with her son and grandsons. Linda had a personality that could light up any room. She was warm, caring, generous, and made everyone feel important and loved. Her sense of humor was second to none. Linda made friends everywhere she went. She made many friends that became like family. Linda loved cooking, baking, crocheting, and was a voracious reader. But the lights of Linda’s life were Sally, Kevin, Tyson and Tyler who will miss her tremendously. Linda faced a number of challenges, and met each one with a full heart, positive mindset, and her head held high. Even on her most challenging days, she was making sure those around her were taken care of. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the love and care shown to Linda in her final months. Thank you to Jordan, Jen, Nicki and the entire staff at Prairie Lake Hospice. As well, our eternal gratitude to special friends Cindy, Ann, Danielle, Britta and Jancy for their love, unwavering support and friendship.
Mom/Linda, your love and laughter will live in our hearts forever. You were our angel on earth, and we miss you. xoxo
Linda Dawn Muirhead was the most amazing beautiful person and we all miss and love her sweet kind spirit
She was my Canadian momma to me for over 30 years. And to my children she was “Grandma Linda” . We all loved her so much. Her sweet soft voice will forever be heard in my heart. Her hand crocheted blankets will forever be cherished in our home. Heaven gained an Angel and she will forever be missed and loved!
Love you Momma Linda

My one and only Auntie. I was so lucky to have you in my life, and will cherish my memories of you forever. I love and miss you.
You were and amazing friend and a constant source of charm and humor. You will be missed by all who knew you.
Please accept my condolences on the passing of your Mom. I knew her in junior high. I remember she was lots of fun, she had a great laugh. It was wonderful to reconnect with her on Facebook. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
Linda’s love for Sally, Kevin, Lori and all of her family was expressed in every conversation I had with her over the years. Her stories were always told with pride, humour and love.
She shared her caring and kindness with her friends, extended families and everyone she met along her life’s journey. Linda was a grateful, positive person able to give and receive with such grace. She centred herself in the moment she was in and focused on the good. I’ll cherish our family times, the visits and conversations.
Linda remains in our hearts.
Sending love to all of you – Nancy and Alan
I would encourage anyone who would like to do something in memory of Linda, to consider donating to an animal shelter, children’s hospital, or just an act of kindness or generosity to someone in need. No matter what her means were over the years, she always found a way to give in some way.
Linda worked with me at Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP in Winnipeg for a number of years. She was always so positive, funny, kind and a complete joy to work with. It really was my privilege. It has been many years since I’ve seen her but I can still remember her radiant smile! My sincere condolences to all her family on the loss of a truly beautiful person.
