Roderick Cornel Nicholas Boyko
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Roderick Boyko on November 27, 2024. Born on February 13, 1956, Rod is survived by his daughters Ashley and Nikki (Matthew), son Garrett, mother Elizabeth, sister Emmy (Wayne), nephew Kelsey, niece Kerris (Phil), his three beloved cats, and his close friends Henry, Carol-Ann, and Art.
Rod was born and raised in the town of Derwent. After completing his post-secondary education at the University of Alberta, Rod began a career as a pharmacist, eventually operating two pharmacy locations. After leaving pharmacy, Rod dabbled in many different fields, including home building and home renovations. Rod was also an accomplished artist and his paintings grace the walls of many of Edmonton’s most prestigious golf courses.
After retiring to an acreage near his hometown, Rod filled his days with building his very own private par-3 golf course on his land. He also loved to spend time with his neighbours and friends, volunteering at the community hall serving food, and playing cards. Rod’s sense of humor and generosity will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
