Donald Roy Jones

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our kind, sweet, gentle brother Donny Jones of Breton Alberta. Donny passed away peacefully in his sleep at his beloved home place at the age of 65 (born Aug 23,1958), where he has farmed since childhood on a family farm.
Donny grew up in Strathmore and Olds, where he loved riding horses and high school rodeo, playing hockey and riding motorcycles. Donny worked every summer in the horse barns at the Calgary Stampede and made many friends of all ages. His kind, friendly nature and awesome, witty sense of humor drew people to him and He made friends where ever he went. Donny started farming full time at age seven by milking the cow before and after school and on weekends. Donny could soon operate all of the farm equipment and became a professional truck driver. He worked tirelessly on the family farms. Donny moved onto a family farm west of Breton as a young man and operated a cow/calf operation and a Professional Trucking Business. He enjoyed motorcycling with the brothers-in-law and friends until his peaceful passing at home on July 26,2024.
Donny’s kind, gentle nature, his witty humor, and his beautiful friendship will be sadly missed by his wide circle of family, friends and neighbors.
Donny was predeceased by his parents Don Jones and Joan Lenfesty Jones, and his sister Bonny Jones Richer. Donny is survived by his sisters Nancy and Larry Wilkinson of Olds, Sandra and Michael Ray of Edmonton, Carolyn Jones and Glen Baumhour of Delburne, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Donny on Saturday, August 17/24 at 2pm at the Olds Legion, Olds Alberta.
