Family was so important to mom. She was a safe haven for many over the years. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, generosity, wonderful sense of humor, her appreciation for music, love of nature and her beautiful gardens.
Mom's life was always centered around her love for our Creator, Jehovah God, and she had faith in the Bible’s promise of a future resurrection. Until then, she is safe in Jehovah’s memory and we will see her “Just Around the Corner”.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 10948-150 Street, Edmonton AB. Zoom will also be available. Contact family for details.
My beautiful Auntie Doris. Our paths in life crossed a couple of times, and each time only for a few years; but the memories from those days will be cherished forever. When I was younger, and Mom (Shirley King) and I would come to visit you, Tracy, Craig and Jamie, I remember someone who would allow us to be kids and the fun we would have. As an adult, I remember a strong, compassionate and loving woman. A woman who embraced me for me, and who took a genuine interest in who I had become, and those in my circle of life. The historical family stories of family from long ago, and not so long ago were so appreciated. You had such a passion for sharing and passing along those stories that we could all treasure. Thank you for inviting me into your home on so many occasions; a cup of tea waiting, a story to be told and pictures to enjoy.
Auntie Doris, you were very special to me and I will miss you dearly.
My heartfelt sympathies to Tracy, Craig, Jamie, Shauna and the rest of the family.
Thank you so much, Judy. Those are such nice words and I know my mom loved you very much. She was always so happy when she knew you were coming to see her.
