Edward ‘Ted’ James Craig
It is with heavy hearts and a great sense of loss that we announce the passing of Edward (Ted) Craig. Born on April 16,1954 to Keith & Joan Craig (Deceased) in Toronto, Ontario. Ted grew up in Alderwood and loved exploring the outdoors, as a teen he excelled at wrestling in Burlington, Ontario. He moved to Alberta in his late teens after spending time involved with Canada World Youth. Ted was a big man, known for his generosity, warmth, kindness large laugh and big heart. He did not have a family of his own but treated his niece and 6 nephews as if they were his own. Survived by his brother William 'Bill' Craig, and sisters Carol Fletcher and Susan(Neil) McCooeye. Niece Rachel Fletcher, and nephews John (Jenny) & Dan Craig, Adam (Jessica) & Ryan (Zoey) Fletcher, Doug (Christine) &Alex (Sophia) McCooeye, also by 13 grand nieces and nephews who all loved their 'Uncle' Ted to bits. He will be greatly missed by many from coast to coast.

Bon Voyage Ted - smooth sailing.
Farewell old comrade- goodbye my friend. You were a good and trusted compadre. I’ve known Ted for over 40 years and always found him to be a good natured, laugh loving guy whos spirit and generosity made him a well loved and respected colleague by all that knew him.
Another sailor the sea never got. Gonna be weird not having our annual Uncle Ted week this summer. He was always there for his family and content to sit back and peacefully observe the chaos around him. Until we meet again Ted.
It was always a total pleasure to be in company with my Uncle Ted, his great respect for learning and his unshakable commitment to family were admirable and contagious. His annual visits will be sorely missed.
Ted was an incredibly good-natured, thoughtful, generous person. He was quick to laugh and always prioritized quality time with family. Ted always made time for those around him and soaked up time at the cottage surrounded by siblings, friends, nieces, nephews and all their kiddos having a blast. He was a quiet observer but always open to chat about just about anything. He seemed to be able to jump into any conversation and bring a thoughtful perspective or funny antidote. He was such a lovely man and will be greatly missed.
Ted was my oldest friend, neighbour and adopted ” big brother” since 1982 when he was my training partner as we both started as rookie Correctional Officers. A gentle giant, Ted was always generous with his friends. He was there for me more times than I can remember. I miss you Ted and your kind and gentle presence. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Ted was larger than life. Remembered fondly from the family gatherings of the five Coleman sisters, two of whom were our mothers (Joan, Mary). Nineteen cousins in all. And we even got along. Sincere condolences to his siblings, Bill, Carol and Sue and their families. Jim Junke
Ted was a big man with a big heart. My heart goes out to the Craig clan.
I fondly remember wrestling with Ted at childhood family gatherings, me being just a cub to the papa bear he was. God made him big to hold that big, playful and joyous heart of his. Fondly remembered as a wonderful man. My condolences to Bill, Carol and Sue.
Very sad news. We have all lost another good one. My “bigger than life” cousin Ted always carried great warmth, genuine care and interesting and fun conversation. Distance dictated that our face-to-face meetings were much too few. Given his nature and who he naturally was, my guess is that he was patient but very tired of being called Teddy Bear!
Cheers Ted, you will be missed by all.
