Lewis Irvine Miller
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lew Miller. Lew was born in Gaspe, Quebec and lived in the little hamlet of Sunny Bank. He loved Gaspe but left to live in Montreal in 1956 to find work. He worked for CNR for several years and then went to work for Montreal Locomotive, where he became their spare parts manager. In this position he traveled all over Asia and parts of South America, Greece, Spain and several other countries. He later worked for another railroad company. After moving to Edson, Alberta, Lew became a chaplain and served at the University Hospital in Edmonton. He also provided Sunday services three Sundays a month at the Edson Anglican Church. This was his most rewarding work.
Lew is survived by his two sisters, Janice Miller Farrow and Marg Ruttan as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Miller, his mother, Esther Miller, two brothers, Winty Miller and Jerry Patterson and all grandparents. Lew will be sadly missed by his family and friends. We know he's having a good catch-up chat with all his departed family. There will be no memorial service as per Lew's request.
