Maria Guerrero

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maria Guerrero, of the city of Edmonton on Aug 15, 2024, at the age of 96 years of age. She will be lovingly remembered by her children:  Jorge Gonzalez, Silvia Gonzalez, Lucila Veronica Gonzalez Guerrero; grandchildren: Pablo Gonzalez Pieper, Cedomil Lausic Gonzalez, Laurise Chedid, Rodrigo Hernandez Pieper, Jazmin Stowe, Jonathan Gonzalez Valdez, and her great-grandchildren:  Roberto Gonzalez Hermosilla, Sofia Gonzalez Hermosilla,  Antonia Gonzalez Torres, Esme Lausic Gonzalez, Reznor Stowe, Jack Stowe and Isla Stowe, Leonor Gonzalez Lunas, and the administrative resources of the GEF Senior Housing at Ansgar Villa.

Maria Guerrero was born in Chile and came to Canada in 1977 as a landed immigrant and later became a Canadian citizen. Prior to immigrating to Canada, she graduated from the University of Chile as a Librarian and worked as a Research Officer on Urban Development for the Faculty of Architecture at the university of Chile. In Canada she volunteered in many organizations and her last place of work was the Burnaby Art Gallery in British Columbia. Maria spent many years traveling to different countries, seeking new knowledge and meeting new people. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit.

At Maria's request, no service will be held. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
