Mario Joseph Miles

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mario Miles, who peacefully left us on Christmas Day, 2025. Mario was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Born to the late Rollie Miles Sr. and Dr. Marianne Miles, Mario was passionate about football, family, and the great outdoors. He coached football for 28 years, leaving an indelible mark on countless players and families, and was the proud founder of the Millwoods Grizzlies in 1996. Beyond the field, Mario found joy in spending time with his wife, Sherline, camping in the mountains, and sharing his delicious pies made with love.

Mario’s infectious laugh and sharp sense of humor brightened every room, and his unwavering love for his family was evident in everything he did.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherline Miles, whom he met at Shaw University in North Carolina; his children, Tamela Miles (Steve Collins) and Mario Miles Jr. (Rachelle Miles); and his cherished grandchildren, Lyric Lindgren (Haedan Lindgren) and Hunter Miles-Collins. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rolanda, Monica, Michelle, Rollie Jr., and Tony, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss him.

A celebration of Mario’s life is planned for mid-February to early March. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming weeks.
