Moon Stone
Moon, daughter of William and Agnes Cairns of Edmonton, arrived
on Nov 6th. 1943. She left almost eighty years later on October 23rd, 2023.
With open hearted joy, Moon touched many people. Her teaching career at Victoria Composite School allowed her to steer students down positive paths. Moon was a force to be reckoned with, and yet a gentle soul -she loved those kids and they knew it.
After retirement Moon poured her energies into singing in various choirs, creating pottery masterpieces, gardening, and caring for her animal family of numerous cats and much loved dogs. She made many friends both with and without fur.
Moon’s outgoing personality, her honest opinions, her thoughts about health, the world, the universe, the stars, and her many lives resulted in there never being a dull encounter. She stood up for the little guy and abhorred over reaching bureaucracy which she fought tirelessly.
Moon’s memory will invoke a smile, a chuckle, and a thoughtful pause
Please know you are welcome to share your memories of Moon at the the Devon Pioneer 73 Club, 29 St Lawrence Ave, Devon on March 19th, 2024 at 2 PM.
Charities Moon supported: Humane Society, Canadian Wildlife Society, CNIB Guide Dogs, Herb Jamieson Hope Mission, Effect Hope Leprosy.
Deepest Sympathy to friends and Family of Moon. Heaven was enriched by the arrival of this exuberant, loving soul.
Moon,
You are, and will be, sadly missed.
Sorely missed.
My dear Math teacher and friend. I only found out now July 16 / 24 that you has passed. You were the only one who ever got through my thick skull to teach me math. Later we reconnected when I moved to Devon. I will miss our chats we would have. No more pottery… no more Drumming. And our love for cats and dogs and the wild animals. I will miss you my friend. 💐😢. Now you RIP 💐
I will never forget you 💐
