Victor Dollard Gobeil

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Victor Dollard Gobeil, on Sept 16, 2024.
In his early years, he grew up on the farm in the French community of Beaumont, Ab with his parents Lawrence and Juliette, and his three siblings Evelyn, Roland and youngest brother, Eugene. He remained on the farm while attending NAIT, where he graduated from the Electronics program. His education led him to his long time career and passion as an electronics engineer. He started his career at CBC in south Edmonton and after a few years, he moved onto a brand new endeavour with CITV Edmonton, as broadcast engineer, specializing in the care and operation of the news department equipment. There he spent 26 years honing his master craft. He retired for 4 years and chose to return to work, putting in another 10 years in a related career, conducting calibrations. There he found and formed new friendships, enjoying the time that he spent there.
During his early time at ITV, he met his spouse Susan, and they had a son, Jean (TJ). Throughout the years, we enjoyed many camping, ski trips and time at the lake, together with friends, family and colleagues, Mexico was a favored winter vacation. Victor was an avid cyclist (to work every day, what a trooper), he also enjoyed his many motorcycles over the years. He enjoyed learning new things, and was an electronics master and awesome craftsman.
A memorial gathering is to be held at a later date, to share stories and celebrate his life. Victor leaves behind his beloved family, Susan and son Jean, his 3 siblings, many nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues.
