Barbara Amanda Sauve
Barbara Amanda Sauve passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2024 at the age of 73. Her memory, and most importantly her love, lives on in the hearts of her husband, daughters, grandsons, sisters, brothers, family members and friends.
Barb was born in Halifax, NS on August 06, 1950 and was raised in West Chezzetcook. She had fond memories of winter’s, skating on the flats, summers of waving lit cattails soaked in kerosene, visits to her grandparents, her turn to go into town and vacationing in New Brunswick with all her family. She met her husband Don in 1968 and moved to Calgary in 1973. Barb worked at many different and diverse positions throughout her life but her special time was caring for her family.
Barb moved many times as her husband was transferred from Calgary to Norman Wells, to Calgary, to Winnipeg, to Leduc and finally settling in Edmonton. Each time turning a house into a home. Along the way she met several special friends.
Barb enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it be out on the deck, making Sunday dinners or taking part in an outing of fun. Nothing could bring a bigger smile to her face than a hug from either grandson. She also enjoyed hobbies like arts and crafts, gardening, cooking or watching her favourite television shows. Barb loved travelling and enjoyed her winters in Florida with her extended family there. Part of the travel always include a trip home reconnecting with family and old friends
Barbs life would seem to short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, understand that her existence and impact she left on our hearts exceeded the quantity of time that she had.
Barb joins those who have passed before her including her mom and dad, brothers and friends. May they guide her beautiful soul into the next journey.
Both my daughters Kerri and Ashley and I would like to thank the entire staff at Pilgrims Hospice for the compassion and care they afforded not only Barb but the entire family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pilgrims Hospice Society 9808 148 Street Edmonton, Ab. T5N3E8.
Respecting Barbs wishes a private family function will be held at a later date.
Our sympathies from Frank and Estelle. Didn’t know her long time, but the short time I did, I definitely found out how good of a person she was. To Don and kids, big hugs.
Estelle Roy and Frank Grabmann

We lost a beautiful friend. No more suffering, just everlasting peace in heaven. May the cherished memories of Barb overcome the grief of her passing. Sincere condolences to Don, Kerri, Ashley and all Barb’s family and friends.
Beloved aunt, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother to all our big spread apart extended Buckley family. Aunt Barb always made room in her heart and home for myself when I first came out west and again as my own family grew. Love and prayers from the Buckley Willier family.
My condolences to you and your family
Don, Kerri, Ashley and families. I was so sorry to hear of Barb’s passing . Marilyn and graham had let me know-those Dover connections we made while the kids were growing up stay strong. Remembering all those ball games, and gymnastics, and neighborhood shenanigans like “the Griswalds’ station wagon. Your home was a wonderful place-Barb made it easier for those of us who needed child care when we headed to work. Sara didn’t stay there but knowing Barb was in the neighborhood for emergencies made things easier. We have lost a good “old” friend. Love Deb Nowazek and Sara
