Eugene Morely Manchak
It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Morely Manchak announces his passing on July 8th, 2024 at the age of 66 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He will lovingly be remembered by his children, Levi (Jessica), Danielle (Sean) and Katelyn; his brother, Gordon (Bonnie), sister, Violet as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Allen and Adeline Manchak and his sister, Elaine Sekora.
Eugene loved the outdoors, and the peace he found in nature. He could often be found teaching others how to forage for mushrooms and other wild herbs, fishing, hunting or just taking a long walk in beautiful surroundings. Eugene found his passion of sharing his knowledge of the natural world with others through Alberta Outdoorsmen, where he often submitted pictures, articles and advice to those who sought out his expertise.
"This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls." - John Muir
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation in Eugene's name.
My condolences to the Manchak Family, I worked with Eugene many years ago at Faster Oilfield in Nisku, reconnected with him a few years ago, had some new laughs about old times, a pleasure 🙏 May Eugene rest in peace 🙏
Wow. So sorry to family members of Eugene. I met Eugene in the ’80’s, and played guitars with him. He had a friend, Darcy, I recall. We had a coffee together last year at the local A&W. Rest in peace, my friend.
