Carolyn Lillian Gellert

Carolyn passed away on October 12, 2025 at the Hardisty Care Centre in Edmonton, where she resided for the last two years. She was 79 years old, just a couple of months shy of her 80th birthday.

Carolyn was the first child of August and Lillian (Schiewe) Gellert, of Ellerslie, both predeceased. Her only son, Jason Scott Gellert, passed away in 2023. Carolyn is survived by her sister Muriel Baumgartner (Don), brother Harvey Gellert (the late Deena), and niece Tara Baumgartner and nephew Dallas Baumgartner. She is remembered by her aunts and many cousins.

Carolyn lived an independent life in Edmonton, along with Jason and her beloved dogs Muffy and Bernie. She found fulfillment and joy tending and nurturing her backyard garden, filled with flowers and shrubs. Carolyn was a welcome presence at many family gatherings and events, where she was not shy about expressing her opinions. Carolyn was always warm towards and interested in the lives of her niece and nephew, cousins, and especially the children of her cousins.

A memorial gathering for Carolyn will be planned at a later date.
