Everything from securely collecting data, selecting a cremation container, cremation urn or jewelry, government forms and paying for services has been made simple. The cost of visiting a funeral home and meeting with a funeral director has been removed and the savings passed on to you.

During a very difficult time for our family after the death of my father, Just Cremations took care of everything with a couple of simple phone calls. Kathy, the funeral director, made this process seem less threatening and morbid as she is very personable and accessible. However, as they state, this is a very efficient and basic service (the location for viewing ain’t fancy) so if you prefer a more upscale type farewell perhaps choose their traditional Trinity services instead. We are delaying our Celebration of Life until later in the year so this worked well for us. How much does the cremation process cost in Edmonton?

Are caskets required for a cremation?

Provincial legislation does not mandate the use of a casket during a cremation. However, your crematorium may request that a coffin be used. The container does not need to be commercially-made or bought. However, funeral homes may set requirements for the combustibility and sturdiness of the materials.

What should I prepare before a cremation service?

In Alberta, individuals are required to obtain cremation permits from the provincial government. A signed death certificate, along with an authorization form, must also be obtained from the Medical Examiner’s Office. There are also restrictions on the types of materials that can be used for placing the cremated remains. Common materials include biodegradable constructs, such as cardboard, wood, bamboo, or plant-fibres.
