With heavy hearts, the Candy family announces the passing of their beloved matriarch, Sharon Ann Candy.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, George and Agnes Plastow; her in-laws, Edgar and Jessie Candy; and her eldest grandson, David.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Allan; her children, Colin, Carole (Bill), Kelly, and Kate; her grandchildren, Crystal, Brian (Sharee), Joshua (Brandie), Nicholas, Jakob (Melissa), James, Sarah (Adam), Lukas (Alyson), Doug, and Maleeka; and her 7 great-grandchildren.
Sharon was born on November 1, 1946. She met Allan while he was working in George’s garage, sparking a romance that led to their marriage on November 6, 1965. Together they built their home, where they welcomed their children: Colin (1967), Carole (1969), Kelly (1972), and Kate in 1981. As time progressed, their home was filled with love, foster children, and eventually the spouses of their growing family.
Sharon’s faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. She poured her love into her children, and even more so into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.
A Celebration of Life has been held at Sharon’s home church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ardrossan (52233 Rge. Rd. 221, Sherwood Park, T8E 1C9). A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church Ardrossan – General or Cemetery Fund.
