Celebrating the Life of Daniel Eldon Hallberg of Edmonton, AB
On October 4th, 2025, our hearts were forever changed when Daniel Eldon Hallberg, devoted husband, father and friend passed away peacefully from a recent illness, surrounded by loved ones. He was 71 years old, and though his time with us feels far too short, the love and laughter we shared will echo through our lives for years to come.
Born on March 15th, 1954 in Biggar, SK, Dan is survived by his wife, Shelley Pedersen, son Josh Hallberg of Kamloops, B.C. and daughter Kimberly Hallberg of Wakaw, SK, as well as his brother and sister, Chuck Hallberg and Heather Neville. He is predeceased by his parents, Homer and Eileen Hallberg, Family meant everything to Dan and he took pride in being a devoted partner, loyal friend and loving Dad to his two children.
Dan had a big personality and was known for his great sense of humour and creative storytelling. He was always able to lighten the mood and bring laughter and joy to those around him. His compassion, caring nature, and consideration for others made him a trusted friend in the lives of many. He had a unique ability to connect with people, making friends easily and with friendships that lasted a lifetime.
A skilled finishing carpenter and construction superintendent, Dan dedicated many years to his craft, where his attention to detail and commitment to quality were unmatched. He took great joy in building not just structures, but also lasting relationships with co-workers and clients alike. His work ethic and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of many in the community.
Outside of his professional life, Daniel was a man of many passions. He loved the great outdoors, enjoying fishing, boating and hunting, especially in Northern Canada. His love for woodworking and wood carving allowed him to express his creativity, crafting beautiful pieces that will be treasured by his loved ones for years to come. He was also an ardent reader and comedy lover, his laughter filling rooms and hearts alike. Notably, Daniel was an animal lover, treasuring his various pets and holding a deep passion for animal welfare and similar causes.
In honor of Dan’s generous spirit, donations may be made to your local animal rescue – a small way to continue the kindness he brought into the world.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in the spring of 2026. The date is yet to be determined.
As we remember Daniel, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He will be profoundly missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
