Obituary for Bert McGinnis
It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of William Albert “Bert” McGinnis of St Albert AB on Nov 21,2025.
Bert was born as the first son of Norman and Hilda McGinnis on April 03, 1943. He spent his early years in Vermillion, Enoch and Spruce Grove. He met a young lady at a ball game in Enoch and devoted the rest of his life to his wife Lydia McGinnis, she was the love of his life to the end. They went on to raising five children Daniel, Warren, Shannon, Elliott and Evan. Bert started his life working in the oilpatch but ventured into many other driving careers involving water well drilling, bed trucks, hot oilers, tank trucks, highway tractors pulling just about anything and everything across Western Canada. His passion for trucking took second place over his love of family. He was always in touch with his brothers and sisters but if he had any spare time, it was helping his children and especially watching his grandchildren in many of their activities.
