It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Robert Sawyer on Sunday, January 4 2026 at the age of 77. Barry was predeceased by his wife Wilma, brother Ross, sisters Sheila and Edna and his parents Harvey and Mary of Glen Ewen SK.
He leaves behind his three sons Jason(Loreen) of Edmonton, Leslie(Courtnee) of Leduc and David(Cheryl) of Fort Saskatchewan, two daughters Cynthia of Thunder Bay and Lynn Bellemare of Edmonton.
Barry loved his grandchildren Lori, Coen, Shaimis, Thoren, Jordon, Derric, Reina, Dallas, Noah and Kayla. His sister Della(Derwyn) Reid of Edmonton and his close friend Tammy Genoway and her sons Austyn and Brody of Leduc. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives.
Barry had many friends throughout his life that were like family, we appreciate all his friends at the Goldage Senior Apts who enjoyed his company for the past 5 years.
We will gather together on Barry’s birthday, Thursday July 9 2026 at 2pm at the Leduc Lions Hall located in Leduc AB for an open house of love and memories.
The family would like to send our sincerest thank you to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at the U of A hospital. We are deeply grateful for your compassion and care.
