Lewis Bernard Rodney passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta, on February 5, 2026. He was 78.
Lew will be missed by his wife, Jan Penner; sister, Bonnie Rodney; longtime friend Sharron Forrest; and friends
Joe Alcorn, Blair Wotherspoon, and Geoff Williams (and family). Also, friends in the Alberta land surveying
community that he was part of for 38 years. Lew loved his surveying career as it challenged his
keen mind and got him outdoors (and out of town).
He took the education pathway of NAIT and the U of A’s Survey Science degree. After completing his articles,
Lew was commissioned as an Alberta Land Surveyor in April, 2000.
Lew will also be missed by the Wednesday night men’s group at Central Baptist Church.
He passed listening to his all-time favourite blues music on CKUA.
