Frances Marie Pelton
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Marie Pelton, who left us peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 80. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose love and generosity touched countless lives.
Born in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan on June 11, 1945, to Karl and Annie Holba, Frances grew up on the family farm in Goodsoil, Saskatchewan, where she developed the strong sense of family, faith, and community that guided her throughout her life.
Frances shared 24 wonderful years of love, laughter, and adventure with her husband Tom. Together, they built a life centered around their families-whom Frances cherished deeply and spoke of with immense pride. She also held a special place in her heart for her large extended family and many dear friends.
Full of life, energy, and warmth, Frances had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Her joyful laughter could fill a room, and her welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home. Deeply connected to her community, she was always ready to lend a hand, share a cup of tea, play a game of cards, or brighten someone’s day.
One of Frances’ greatest passions and accomplishments was her 54‑year career as a Registered Nurse. She was dedicated, compassionate, and deeply committed to the people she cared for and the colleagues she worked alongside. The relationships she built through her work were among the most meaningful of her life.
Frances loved music, sports, and cheering on her favourite curling and hockey teams-never missing a chance to watch a game, whether in person or on TV. She treasured her 40 years of living in Victoria, and later embraced her move to Kelowna to be closer to family. Being surrounded by those she loved brought her the greatest joy.
A woman of deep faith, Frances was guided throughout her life by her strong Catholic beliefs, which provided her with comfort, purpose, and strength.
Frances’ passing leaves a space that can never be filled, but her spirit will live on in the memories she created and the lives she touched. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
