Margaret “Jean” Huot passed away peacefully at home, with the love of her life and husband of 68 years, Laurier, holding her hand.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her children, Ed (Mariette), Suzanne, and Dee (Dianne). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many wonderful family members and friends, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She was sadly predeceased by her son George and grandson Laurier, along with other cherished family members and friends.
Along with being the amazing matriarch of her family, Jean lived a wonderful 87 years filled with love, family, and many interests. She was a teacher and nurturer at heart and a talented crafter who loved quilting and knitting—making hundreds of pairs of slippers over the years for family and friends. She was also an avid reader, loved gardening and berry picking, and enjoyed many hours playing on “Watson,” her beloved iPad.
Jean was also an avid perch fisherman and especially loved taking her grandchildren out fishing. Those days spent together on the water created many special memories that her family will cherish for years to come.
Jean’s warmth, creativity, and love for her family will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
At Jean’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in her memory.
