It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jenny Osborn. Jenny was an amazing mother to Gerald, Dan (Nancy), Al (Kellee) and a remarkable Baba/G.J. (Grandma Jenny) to her grandchildren, Erin (Mark), Nile (Lauren), Danika (Chay), Brendan (Celina). She was over the moon when she met her great granddaughter, Michelle, at last year’s Christmas celebration. Jenny was predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Stanley Borowski in 1988 and 1990 respectively.
Jenny was born in rural Alberta on August 26, 1935, but grew up in Edmonton. She married when she was 20. Throughout the 60s and 70s, she was a stay-at-home mom volunteering for many school and church functions. She rejoined the workforce in the 80s and was employed at various Government offices until she wound up in The Family Maintenance Department where she remained until retirement.
Jenny was very much an arts lover attending theatre, the Opera, and the Symphony. She was an avid Fringe-goer and was the inspiration for several characters included in some of her son’s Fringe plays.
Jenny was a source of wisdom, guidance and compassion to all who knew her. She will be forever remembered by her dear friends-since-childhood, Ann Hawrylechko and Stephie Swystun. Back in the day, they would talk on the phone for hours at a time. It is possible that these lovely ladies are the reason that the busy signal was invented.
On August 26, 2025, Jenny turned 90 but couldn’t quite believe it. “How old?” “90.” “90? Wow!”
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

My sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Jenny, where we became and remained good friends even after she retired. She will always be remembered and have a special place in my heart

Gerald, thank you for sharing this with me. You look more like your mom than your dad to me. She sounds like a wonderful person & great role model to her children & grandchildren.
So fortunate to have surviving childhood friends. She will be missed.
