Elizabeth Boyko
June 9, 1932- Dec 24, 2025
Surrounded by love, our dear Elizabeth Boyko ( Grandma Liz) passed away on December 24, 2025 at the age of 93.
Elizabeth is survived and cherished by her loving family; daughter Emeralda Yarmuch (Wayne); daughter- in- law Sonia Boyko; grandchildren Kelsey Yarmuch, Kerris Yarmuch Aube (Phil), Garrett Boyko, Ashley Boyko (Dallas), Nikki Gabruch ( Matt); great- grandchildren Kienna and Jackson Aube; sisters Olga Musiyowsky, Rose Lukach and Lillian Mithrush (Henry); sister-in-law Sunny Gulayets. She leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Elizabeth joins her loved ones in everlasting peace husband Nick, infant son Lonnie; son Roderick (Rod); parents Fred and Mary Gulayets; brothers Peter, John and Emil; sisters Ann Hymanyk, Helen Moneta and Tillie Ilkiw; and her very special friend and partner Doug Willmer.
Elizabeth was born and raised in the Derwent area. Upon finishing school, she was employed at the Derwent post office. After she married Nick, she became a full time homemaker and later, a devoted mother. Elizabeth found great joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. She loved spending her days in the kitchen baking, cooking, and was especially well known for her delicious fried chicken. Coffee visits with friends were among her favorite moments, filled with conversation, laughter and connection.
Creativity was woven into everything Elizabeth did. She expressed herself through knitting, crocheting, quilting and other forms of needlework, and she took great pride in creating beautiful Ukrainian Easter eggs and delicate petit point pieces. She lovingly tended to her garden, found comfort in reading, and enjoyed challenging her mind with word puzzles- quiet moments that brought her peace and happiness.
Elizabeth’s family would like to thank Dr. Curtis LaRue and the nursing staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for the care provided during her last days.
As per Elizabeth’s wishes, a private remembrance with the family will be held at a later date.
My Heart is Broken, so many words left unspoken.
To hear your voice, see your smile & talk with you awhile,
To be with you that same old way will be my fondest memory
I will carry with me everyday.
A Heart of Gold stopped beating & two smiling eyes closed to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
May “Elizabeth” Rest in Eternal Peace & Her Memory be a Blessing!
Emmie & Wayne, Kelsey, Kerris(Phil) & Family Please accept my

All my Love,
Kelley
