Leslie Edward Kisser

“There must be something strangely sacred about salt. It is in our tears and in the sea.” Khalil Gibran

Earth Day, April 2026, Leslie was enjoying what would be his final walk in the park when suddenly The Lord called him home. Anyone who knew Les, would appreciate that he was never one to overstay his welcome, so he must have been ready to move on. With his guitar in his hand, a bag on his shoulder and a twinkle in his eye, the open road, or water, was always calling. He said once that he didn’t need TV, he had the sea birds, the dolphins, and the whales for entertainment. He loved the ocean and his boat, The Blue Pelican; they seemed to represent freedom, adventure, and a natural way of life that he said he could no longer find in the cities of men.

A special thank you to East River Shipyard, Dad’s home away from home and second family.

A very special thank you to his nephew, cousin Jeromy, who was with him at the end.

Your spirit of adventure will live on in us, Dad; we will do our best to treasure every moment.

Leslie is survived by his mother Elma Kisser, predeceased by his father Edward Kisser; survived by his daughter Richelle Lee (David), three grandchildren, Rhys (Sarina), Tyler (Emily) and Cera; six grandchildren, Ares, Rain, Luca, Morogh, Briella and Hallie; sons Colin (Roberta), and Mark; sisters Sharon, Sheila and Sandra (Alan), and brother Rick (Angela); numerous cousins and second cousins; numerous nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.

As per his wishes, Leslie’s ashes will be scattered on the Atlantic Ocean, in July 2026.

“So God created the great creatures of the sea […] and every winged bird […] And saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:21.
