It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Miroslawa “Mira” Keast, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, family member, and and friend.
Born in Poland, Mira and her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Edmonton AB. She trained and became an amazing esthetician owning Mira’s Esthetics for 30 years in Stony Plain AB.
Her love of nature, flowers, and anything she could grow was her delight while living a country lifestyle. There she raised three incredible children with her loving husband of 51 years. In late 1990’s she was reunited with her first born child and was delighted to have him in her life for the remainder of her years.
She had a passion for beauty and created amazing art in the form of drawings, cross stitching, painting sculptures, clay flowers, flower bed designs, and above all stain glass master pieces.
She was always there to help family and friends when needed or just to have fun at gatherings, garden and nature adventures (berry picking), or a quiet evening at home playing cards.
In 2013 Mira and her husband got their dream to live deep in the country with only wildlife for neighbors. To their delight the moose, deer, birds, and other creatures along with their offspring were frequent visitors and amazing entertainment right outside their windows. They have made the land and home there a peaceful paradise that has created many beautiful memories for them, their family, and friends.
Mira’s passing has left a space that can never be filled. Her spirit lives on in her husband Doug, her children Trevor (Michelle), Nannet (Dale), Tannia (Johan), Chad and her grandchildren Liam, Payton, Addison, Daemeon. She will live on in all our hearts and the beauty she created in everyone’s lives.
Her final wishes were for a small intimate gathering to honor her on the land she loved so much. It would honor her greatly for everyone who knew her to enjoy the beauty of nature and the world around them.
