In Loving Memory of Stuart (Stu) Lloyd James Olsen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stuart (Stu) Lloyd James Olsen, who passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta, on August 19, 2026, at the age of 52.

Stu will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tristen Olsen, Tyler Olsen, and Michael Olsen; his stepmother, Loraine Olsen; and his former wife, Laura Olsen. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Carrie) Butler and Debbie (Craig) Harley, along with extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.

In recent days, Stu had begun attending church again and found his way back to God. This renewed faith brought him comfort and a sense of peace, and it became an important part of his journey.
Stu had a deep love for his dog, Prometheus, who was a cherished companion and brought him much happiness. He loved spending his summers outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and all the activities that came with the season. Music was another great love of his, always bringing enjoyment and memories to his life.

Above all, Stu will be remembered as a father, brother, companion, friend, and a man who was finding his way back to faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed.

Rest peacefully, Stu. May you be reunited with God and find eternal peace.

oh my goodness this is terribly shocking news. Stu was so kind, we spent a lot of time listening to music as he was one of the only other corey hart fans in Coalhurst. He was also very supportive and comforting while I was going through my cancer recovery in 2019. unfortunately that’s the last I heard from him. He will forever be in my heart as one of my good friends.

When I first moved to Coalhurst, when I was 16, Stewart was one of the first people I met and we became good friends. I remember playing music with him, he was a great drummer. One of the songs we played was Faith No More, Epic. We weren’t perfect, but good. I have always followed his life on Facebook, and I am happy he found love and was able to build a life brought him happiness. I reached out to him on occasion, to let him know I was happy for him and those he loved. It breaks my heart he has been called back to be with our Heavenly Father. I am happy he found his faith, he was always a kind and good hearted person. My condolences to his surviving relatives. Always be faithful, I am sure this is what his final wishes would be for us.
