November 30, 1993 – June 23, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jason Alexander Campbell, who left us June 23, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 31. Jason was born on November 30, 1993, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and later moved to Edmonton where he married and made it his home.

He is survived by his wife Larissa Campbell and her family; his parents Shelley Campbell and Todd Hagblom; his grandma Irene Campbell “Gma”; sister Jocelyn (Brendan) Desjarlais and their children; cousins (chosen brother and sisters) Brett Brossart, Raylene, Samantha and their children, along with numerous other family members and countless friends who were enriched by his kindness and warmth. Preceded in death by his extended family members Cheryl Johnson (nee) Campbell, Alex Campbell, Cliff Isaacson and Anita Hagblom.

Jason’s life was characterized by the ability to bring joy to those around him, a kind-hearted and selfless young man. His love for his wife Larissa (partner of 11 years), was evident to all who knew them. The couples shared passion for cosplay where they met in 2014 at a comic convention. They continued their passion together and were often recognized as The Joker and Harley Quinn at countless conventions and events. They married on July 22, 2023.

Jason had a special love for animals, particularly his cherished cats and his family dogs in Saskatoon. Jason found joy in helping where he could whether it was volunteering at the Saskatoon Children’s Hospital, comic conventions, gaming for the Extra Life charity, catering for events, or working with various exotic animals at Little Rays Nature Center and the Edmonton Valley Zoo.
Jason’s sociable nature meant he had an expansive network of friends, far and wide. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone was a testament to his charismatic personality.

As we remember Jason, we celebrate the love, laughter, and countless memories he has left behind. He is embarking on a new adventure, and while he will be missed deeply by all, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit continues to shine brightly. Jason, you will live in our hearts forever, loving husband, son and friend. May your journey ahead be filled with all the joy you brought to others.

A celebration for Jason will be held by Shelley and Todd at 2837 Melrose Ave in Saskatoon on July 30 @ 2:00 pm, where family and close friends can gather to pay their respects and celebrate Jason’s incredible life.
A Celebration of Life for Jason will be held by Larissa on August 16 at 2:30 pm, at Rundle Park ACT Recreation Centre (Main Hall/Lounge Room), 2909 113 Ave NW, Edmonton Alberta.
