Joseph Irwin Kelly Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Joseph Irwin Kelly of Leduc, Alberta on July 7, 2025, at the age of 65 years due to a massive heart attack.

Also known as Irwin Joseph Kelly, Smiley, Joe, Kelly, Packy and Kelly Kelly. Joseph / Irwin was born In Charlottetown PEI to Ivan and Winnifred Kelly. Joseph / Irwin was a beloved fiancé, stepfather, step grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He touched the lives of all he knew with his sense of humor, his warmth, generosity, honesty, and integrity.

Joe received his class one ticket at a very young age and long time truck driver hauled many types of products throughout the US and Canada. Joe also was a vac truck operator; heavy equipment operator true passion was playing in the dirt. He was cat and hoe operator in the oilfield throughout Alberta.  Well known for the finesse in the dirt. Joe/Irwin also enjoyed riding his Harley’s, hunting, fishing in his younger years enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. Joe’s greatest joys were being with his loved ones when he was able to be home.

He was a devoted fiancé of 14.5 years and will be lovingly remembered by his fiancé Marilyn Prebushewski, stepdaughter Melanie Whitehouse, and step grandchildren Damon Wiebe, Laetitia Le and Serenity Greenside.

His mother Winnifred (nee Doucette) Kelly, his brother, Reginald, sister-in-law Donna Kelly, nephews Devin (Robyn) and his children Madison and Olivia, Ryan (RIP Aug 14, 2025), and his children stepson Eli, son Finn, and daughter Clara and Darcy (Kacey), his sister Carlene Kelly. Joe / Irwin will be dearly missed by other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his father Ivan Ambrose Kelly,  brother Blaine Kelly, and stepdaughter Destiny Rae Whitehouse.

Although Joseph / Irwin’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Your light will forever shine brightly forever in our hearts.

    Marilyn, the night you introduced me to Joe, i thought you lost your mind. I sure was wrong. You two were meant to be. He was one of the kindest, funniest, friendliest and straight up decent humans that I have ever known. He has a special place in heaven.
