It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lisa Marie Haggart, who left us on April 28, 2025, at the age of 30. Lisa Marie, affectionately called Marie by her mother, was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born on June 19, 1994, Marie grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, where she developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for helping others. She was known for her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and great sense of humor. Her mother would often say she was one of the most beautiful women in Edmonton.
Marie was a talented artist and poet, whose creativity shone through in her beautiful sketches, drawings, and poetry. Her artistic and poetic nature was a reflection of her vibrant personality and her ability to see beauty in the world around her. She took great pride in her creations, and her talent brought joy to many.
In addition to her artistic and poetic talents, Marie had a deep love for animals. She was often surrounded by pets, including her beloved dogs, cats, and fish. Her compassion for animals was truly remarkable, and she dedicated much of her time to caring for her furry and finned friends. Her love for animals was a testament to her kind and nurturing soul.
Marie also faced significant challenges with her mental health and struggled with addiction. Her strength and resilience throughout these struggles were evident throughout her life. We find comfort in knowing that Jesus has taken her into his loving embrace, where she will find eternal peace and rest. Her passing is a profound loss to all who knew her, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support.
Marie had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Her generosity and kindness knew no bounds, and she always went out of her way to make others feel special and loved.
Marie’s hobbies and interests were a big part of who she was. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, exploring nature, and finding inspiration for her art and poetry. She loved music, and as she would say, “Vibing with friends”. Marie was an adventurer at heart, always eager to explore new places and try new things. Her zest for life was contagious, inspiring those around her to embrace each day with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Marie is survived by her Mother; Mary Haggart, Father; Murray Reynolds; Sister; Melissa McArthur (Dean Richards), and their children, Ashley, Jemma, and Jaxton. Brother; Mark McArthur (Saige Van Den Elsen), and their children, Houston, Mavrick, and Hartt. Grandmother; Mary Proulx and Aunts; Lisa Felderhof (Ritchie), Brenda Haggart (Darryl), Susan Haggart (Brian), along with many cousins in Western Canada and distant relatives in Nova Scotia. Marie is predeceased by her Grandfathers; James Haggart and Pierre Proulx, and her Uncle Trent Deen.
Marie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marie’s honor to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Edmonton Region, or a local animal shelter such as the Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society (GEARS)
Rest in peace, Marie. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.

Thank you very much for your condolences.. I’m just heart broken and in shock and feel very empty without my side kick .. marie and I had a great relationship, we had the same sense of humour.. and we had our fights to .. I used to say to her “ we may not have a tv but nevertheless the fights were good lol . Also there worse things then death … watching your love ones suffer & there was no need for her to suffer and I will get marie justice .. mental heath agencies failed her and she fell between the cracks and Jesus and my dad caught her fall and she went up to the heavens not down

    • Mary Haggart says:

Thank you Barry and yes she left an awesome mark on earth the bridge is very busy with all who knew her and some who didn’t know her including one mom who took this opportunity to talk to her 11 year old daughter about the dangers in life and mental health so Marie’s death has already helped someone and will many

  • Shirley Richards says:

I did not know Marie, but she sounded like my kind of gal with her love of adventure and the outdoors. To those that did know and love her, this truth has helped me through some difficult times – – “if we did not LOVE there would be no grief.” Although hearts are hurting now, would we really want a world with no grief?
For anyone trying to make sense of Marie’s death, take time to look up Psalm 18: verses 16-19. Marie’s name is written on every line.

    • Mary Haggart says:

Thank you very much and I read all you mentioned and your right Marie’s name is on every line .. thank you for sharing that in my deepest deepest pain . I needed those words

  • Mary Proulx says:

Thank you Scott . She loved you ,she loved the bond you and her had . She stayed with me for 3 weeks the week before she died . She said she reached out to you and was excited you were coming into the city from work . I’m feel so bad for you and her that you guys never connected. When I think of you and Marie with a smile from ear to ear & even outburst laughter when I think of the furry animal hats you two would wear to spy on me . So when your feeling sad down sometimes the empty feeling think of that & I hope it helps your pain and knowing she out of pain and home no more struggles has a beautiful eternal life with Jesus where we all long to be . …..
