It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Seehagel on June 15, 2025, at 87 years old. Margaret was born on November 25, 1937, in Edmonton. The light of her life was her close-knit family, curling (in her younger years) and quality time with family, Live theatre and of course playing bridge!!

Margaret loved her social life, friends, having made many cherished memories curling, playing bridge, volunteering and driving the Stony Plain Handi-Bus for 26 years. She also loved being independent and it was a blessing she lived in her own home up until 4 days before the Lord took her home. Margaret’s greatest talent was being a mother and grandmother; she taught us strong values and above all we always knew she was our biggest cheerleader.

Margaret leaves behind her children Dean, Tracy and Shawn; her treasured grandchildren (Tyson, Angela, Kyle and Cole) and great grandchildren (Josie, Jaxon, Bryson, Madison and Kashton), sister-in-law’s Wendy Roberts, Loretta McNeill, Lorraine Seehagel and Rita Seehagel as well as many other family and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Donald, her siblings Don Roberts, Shirley Graham and Joy Barth and Sharon Macrae as well as many other family members and friends.

When cards are dealt and ice is clean,
We’ll think of Margaret, calm and keen.
With humour sharp and kindness wide,
She’s never far, just by our side.
So, play your hand and sweep your stone,
She’s part of every game we own.
In every cheer and gentle cheer,
Her voice still echoes — “I’m right here.”

Her presence will forever be felt — in every decision, every act of love, every smile we share. Her love shaped us, and her legacy will live on through each of us.
