On January 11 2026, Mary Kay Clark passed away, succumbing to her battles with ALS and dementia. After 41 years, she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Harold James Clark. She is predeceased by her parents, Helen and Clarence Blundy. She is survived by her children, Christina, Michael, and Mary-Helen, her grandchildren Sydney, Addison, and Charlie, and her sons in law Curtis (Christina) and Christopher (Mary-Helen). She is also survived by her two siblings John Blundy and Margaret Ann Watson, cousin Catherine Brinston, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Kay She loved her grandkids, Elvis, the Blue Jays, and the Washington Capitals. Before her in laws and the world around her failed her spectacularly, she cared about her kids. She would take them to Blue Jays games, the Zoo, and Ontario Place on Canada Day. She meant well, even if her actions didn’t match her intent. The greatest gift she gave her kids was recognizing that her kids were well cared for in the homes of their foster parents, and allowed them to remain where we were loved and provided for. She found fulfillment in her later years, living with her grandchildren and watching them grow. Through them she was able to provide the love and care she likely intended to offer her kids, but couldn’t. But no matter what, she was a good person at her core, and deserves to be mourned.
The family would like extends thanks to the wonderful staff at Edmonton General, Grey Nuns, and Royal Alexandra hospital for making her final months comfortable. A private memorial will be held with immediate family only at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests please make a donation to the ALS society of Canada, or Stollery Children’s hospital, a cause important to the family.
