Joel Langley (46) of Sturgeon County, AB passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after a hard fought battle with cancer. He leaves behind his fiancée Alana, his children and stepchildren Sidney (Dylan), Grace, Aaron, Alex, Logan, Kearsten, his father Harold, mother Marilyn, his siblings Stephanie (Phil), Jamie (Angela), Chris, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joel will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour. He was valued friend to many, who all knew about his love for cars and his need for speed while driving them. Joel was a determined man who always worked hard to get what he wanted in life. He never settled for anything more than what he wanted out of life.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to Dr. Makhdoom, Dr. Candler, Dr. Kolinsky, and all the nurses at the Cross Cancer Institute.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for a donation to be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, an organization Joel felt strongly about.

Out of respect for Joel’s wishes, there will be no service. We ask that you take time to remember the memories you had with him and cherish them.

  1. He was a proud and passionate man and we will cherish the time we had with him.

Joel you had a really big impact on my life and i will never forget the many life lessons you taught me throughout the years we worked together. 5. My condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Joel made a big impact on everyone he met and he will be extremely missed by all his coworkers.

  6. Our hearts are with Alana & families!! I had met Joel several times during a time when Alana & I worked together with Justice & Solicitor General. I was her boss & she was also a supervisor of colleagues in our department. There were times when Joel arrived at her work to surprise her with a ride & other times outside work for family related activities in sports, like hockey. It was amazing to see such a team.. Joel had a great sense of humour, insight to life, friends & family. Let us reflect, of special moments, of happy times, of parents role, of pride with children & love for Alana & all families! May love shine on all with happiness!! 💕😇💛 Joe Sheen
