Sonia Erdell (Calderbank, Handley)
Sonia was born on July 28, 1955 in Edmonton, Alberta, she passed away peacefully in hospital in Edmonton on April.12, 2022.
Sonia was predeceased by both her parents, Helmut and Eva, and her brother Olaf. She is survived by her life partner, Allan , her daughter Tania , her son in law Chris and her two grandsons Tyler and Bryan.
Sonia was a vibrant spirit who said it as she saw it. She loved being outside and getting her hands in the dirt, listening to the birds and chatting with the critters. Her yard was her happy place.
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.

My name is Rebecca Harke (nee Kowalski). I grew up in Old Strathcona with Sonia and Olaf.
I did not know that Sonia had passed a year ago. I am saddened because I really wanted to go and see her.
I had talked to her a couple of years ago.
I will always keep her in cherished my memories that I had spent with her.
I was friends with Sonia for many years, unfortunately we lost touch. I am truly saddened to hear she has passed.
I called her a few summers ago hoping to drop by and see her, but she was having so much trouble with her foot she wasn’t up for company.
I tried calling today and found her number was out of service, so I googled her name and read this sad news.
We did have so many laughs together, those I will never forget.
