It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan Clarence Wicks – a beloved Husband, Dad and Papa. On the morning of December 24, 2025, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in St. Albert, Alberta.
He was predeceased by his mother, Aneta; his father, Percy; and one brother, Lyle. He is cherished by his wife, Ella; two brothers, Dale (Anne) and Don (Rosemary); one sister, Wanda (Wes); two daughters, Shonna (Danny) and Sam (Bud); six grandchildren, Shantal, Shayla, Jaden, Braeden, and Joshua; five great-grandchildren, Trey, Mazikeen, Ashen, Walker, and Willow; as well as his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Allan was born on January 11, 1943, in Fremont, Saskatchewan, and anyone who knew Allan knew that his family and his girls were the loves of his life. Allan was a kind and gentle man who gave so much light and love into everything and everyone around him. He was an amazing father not only to his own children, but to countless foster children and his grandchildren as well. His love was limitless, and many of us still reflect on the gentleness of his heart, having never seen him mad.
Allan was always happy and ready for any adventure. He loved building model planes, loved old cars, and was an avid crokinole player. He spent many summers at Elks Beach with his grandchildren, fishing, biking, and creating memories to last a lifetime. He was always easygoing and, even later in life, met your questions with “you betcha.” Allan’s favorite sayings were “see you later alligator” and “see you soon baboon.”
There will be a celebration of life for Allan in the spring, and the family will be making arrangements at a later date.
