Loreen Marleen Janzen
On the early morning of Christmas Eve, we said goodbye to our beautiful mother, Loreen Marleen Janzen, who passed away peacefully at the age of 85.
Loreen leaves behind her loving partner, Peter Mucha, and her four children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Pam (Gerald), Mechele, daughter Taylor (Russell), Troy (Karen), and their children Isabelle, Kolten, Sophia, and Wesley, Mark (Chantel), their children Brayden, Tristen and Briyana.
Granddaughters Sydney and Danielle (Nic), and their son Emrys, Loreen’s first great-grandchild.
She is also lovingly remembered by her four sisters, Rose, Valerie, Myrna, and Bev (Ken), along with extended family members, cousins, and cherished friends.
Loreen is reunited in everlasting peace with her son Lee, daughter-in-law Connie, and her parents, Martha and John Janzen.
A true farm girl at heart, Loreen had a deep love for animals and knew every bird that found its way to her yard. She carried a special compassion for them and loved her lake life at Calling Lake, Alberta. She was a Christian woman of many talents and had a gift for creating beauty with her hands. She was incredibly handy, building and upholstering furniture for her home, and loved sewing, knitting, and quilting blankets for her children and grandchildren. She also made extra baby quilts to be passed down to the great-grandchildren she knew would come in the future. Loreen loved baking, tending to her flowers, planting a yearly vegetable garden, and was musical, enjoying both singing and playing her guitar. There truly wasn’t much she couldn’t make or mend, and she poured love into everything she touched.
Her strength, kindness, and gentle humour will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and Loreen cared deeply for her neighbours, her community, and her church.
In honour of her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Athabasca Missionary Church, 4008 50th Ave, Athabasca, AB T9S 1M2
We look forward to gathering together to share stories and memories with the loved ones she leaves behind.
Our family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors, cooks, and staff of the Athabasca Hospital for their compassionate care during her time there.
Her love will be felt in every season’s bloom and every songbird’s visit. 🕊️💐
To Pam and Family,
So sorry for your loss, sending you our thoughts and prayers.

So sorry for the loss of your mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Beautiful lady inside and out, kind and generous beyond belief. Enjoyed our many years of camping and staying at Calling Lake as well as the fun card games and meals we enjoyed together. We will miss our friend dearly.
