It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Daniel Swischook on Wednesday, July 29/2026. Rob is survived by his loving wife Rhonda of 35 years, son Daniel, daughter Amanda (Brian), Mother Carol, Brothers Don Jr (Pam), Ron (Sharon), and youngest Brother Dwayne, Nieces and Nephews Jeffery, Thomas, Zach, Ethan, and Jenae. Mother-in-law Darlene and brother-in-law Greg. He will be dearly missed.

Born in Barrie, Ontario to Donald and Carol Swischook, from an early age Robert was known for his kind spirit, great sense of humor, and deep love for family.

In 1991, Robert and Rhonda married and created a beautiful family home with their two children in Edmonton, Alberta.  Robert loved to video game and had a great interest in creation and inventions with a talent for being a chef.  He had a gift for making everyone feel special and valued.

Robert’s greatest joy was being a father and husband, he gave his love freely, unconditionally and without hesitation. His selflessness, unwavering devotion, and endless support shaped the lives of his children, Daniel and Amanda.

During a time of need for Robert, his daughter Amanda had come to the aid for her dad and provided her kidney in a high-risk kidney transplant operation, gifting Robert with 6 more years of longevity as a loving father and husband.  We are forever grateful to Amanda for her sacrifice.

Robert was predeceased by his father, Donald Swischook, in 2015.

A private “Celebration of Life” will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 to be held at “Spirit West United Church, 7003 199 St., Edmonton, Alberta between 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. for a Family Gathering and Lunch.
