It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sharon Alexandra Talbot (nee Lawrence), who said goodbye to us on May 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Her warrior spirit gifted her family precious time after she received a cancer diagnosis. Born on January 20, 1946, in Rexton, New Brunswick, Sharon’s life was a tapestry woven with love, adventure, and a free spirit.
Sharon was predeceased by her loving husband, Ian Talbot. She leaves behind her cherished daughters, Stacey and Cindy, along with her siblings Graham Lawrence, Janis (Dale) Zibrowski, Robert Lawrence (Marie), and Heather Lawrence, as well as her furbaby, James Bond. Her family was her heart and soul, and she took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to all her furbabies over the years, including Bailey, Jake, Jezabelle, Ned, Fraser, and Angus, to name just a few.
A woman of many talents, Sharon was both caring and pragmatic, mastering everything she set her mind to. This was evident in her career. In her early years, Sharon was a fashionista and hair stylist. She dedicated herself to teaching hairdressing and beauty culture at Beverly Beauty School, Spruce Grove High School, and Stony Plain High School, inspiring many budding stylists. Her career took her in various directions, from promoting concerts to real estate, tour guiding, and working with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, before finally retiring from an oil and gas company.
Sharon’s early years in Rexton ignited her love for the ocean and lobster, a culinary delight she cherished throughout her life. She had a zest for travel, becoming a globetrotter who enjoyed many trips with her family. She would always regale family and friends with tales of fun adventures she had with her sister Janis. Sharon found joy in the ocean and longed for sandy beaches in warm climates, where she could relax and bask in the sun.
Her strength and courage shone brightly throughout her life. Sharon expressed her love through acts of kindness, always putting the needs of her family above her own. She adored dogs and horses, spending many cherished moments at the racetrack with her brother Graham and his partner Bob, whether passing on a legacy of family recipes or enjoying an afternoon at the stable, she was happiest spending time with her daughters.
Sharon Talbot will be deeply missed; her fearless and adventurous spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
